FL Dodgers Scout Team
Coach Scott Hennessey is a former Scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers, serving in this capacity from 2007 to 2017. He was both an amateur and professional scout, signing players like: Dee Gordon, Darnell Sweeney, and Paco Rodriguez. In 2017, he was named the manager for the Dodgers AA Team, the Tulsa Drillers. He continues to manage this team, and has led them to 3 straight Texas League Title games, winning it all in 2018. Previously, he served as the Head Coach for Cowley College, winning 2 National Titles in 1997 and 1998.

Felipe has spent his career developing athletes on the field while leveraging growth opportunities for the sports programs he leads. His high level visions and talent-development methods have led him to invitational participation within CONMEBOL/FIFA. Through these events he has firsthand experience organizing youth World Cup qualifying tournaments. Most recently he served as the Head Director of Coaching at Florida Elite Soccer Academy where he oversaw the coaching staff development, tournaments and events organization, sponsorships and partnership planning, and coordination of new programs. Felipe implemented new and innovative techniques to increase enrollment, as well as running one of the largest soccer tournament and ID Showcases in the country. These events not only provided unique opportunities for players, but also brought significant revenue to the local economy.
Prior to his role in youth soccer, Felipe served as an Athletic Director in a private school setting. He was also the Head Coach of the Texas A&M Int. University Women’s Soccer Team. He is a graduate of Texas A&M Int., holding a bachelors degree in Fitness & Sports, as well as a masters degrees in Sports Management and Leadership. He has held the role of adjunct professor at Texas A&M Int. University in the field of Fitness and Sports. He is currently dedicated to building the best sports club in Florida.

Head Coach St. Johns Country Day
Coach Tom Lucas has served as the Head Coach of St. Johns Country Day for the last 6 seasons. In that time he has taken a program with no district titles for 19 years and developed it into one of the area’s top programs. SJCD has made the playoffs for 3 consecutive years, and won a district title in 2019, also making it to the Regional final that year. Prior to serving as Head Coach at SJCD, Tom was the Head Pitching Coach. He has served as the Director of Baseball Operations for the FL Dodgers Scout Team and Head Coach for the 2022 Team. Since its inception 4 years ago, the FL Dodges Scout Team has achieved 42 player commitments to college baseball. Coach Tom’s 2022 team has been ranked as one of the top teams in the country according to the Perfect Game. 9 of his players have committed to D-1 programs.

Assistant Coach Creekside
Coach Laddy is an area native and Creekside High School graduate who participated in the Pan American Games, was a member of the U.S. National Teams, and won St. Johns County Player of the Year during this time. He later attended the University of Alabama, Chipola Junior College, and Florida State University where he hit .320 as a senior. He worked at Chipola Junior College as a Recruiting Coordinator and is currently the Assistant Coach at Creekside High School.

Head Coach Bartram Trail
Coach Fitzpatrick is entering his third year as the Head Coach at Bartram Trail High School where he led the team to District Championship in 2019. Previously he was the Assistant Coach at Creekside High School and was the volunteer assistant at UNF in 2014-2015. Fitzpatrick is a Bartram Trail High School graduate and went on to play college baseball at Seminole State College and Wingate University.
Athletic Director Westside High School
Coach Jeff Gidcumb serves as the Athletic Director at Westside High School in Jacksonville, FL. He has more than 25 years of high school coaching experience in the North Florida area. He played high school baseball at NB Forrest in Jacksonville and continued to play at FSCJ, where he led them to their first appearance in the JUCO World Series. Later, he pitched at the University of Florida, where the Gators finished 5th in the nation at the CWS. He was drafted by the Orioles and the San Francisco Giants.
Head Coach Creekside
Coach Kris grew up in Youngstown, OH, playing baseball throughout high school. He carried this passion into college at Sante Fe Community College where he was an Academic All-American. He later transferred to Flagler College where he graduated with a degree in sports management. His coaching career began at Nease High School in 2008 where he was the Head Freshman Coach. In 2009, when Creekside High School opened its doors, he became the Assistant Baseball Coach and later became the Head Baseball Coach. His past 3 years as Creekside’s Head Coach have resulted in consecutive Regional Finals, a Final Four appearance, and a record of 54 and 17. Additionally, Coach Kris has worked with CBC for fourteen years.
Head Coach Fleming Island
Coach Bigs is a local Jacksonville area travel ball product and Fleming Island graduate. He was the Clay County Player of the Year and First Team All First Coast senior season under Hall of Fame Coach Don Suriano. He played for Luke and Scott Marabell in the summers and was a walk on at Florida State. He is entering his 5th year at Fleming Island and 3rd season as Head Varsity Coach, winning the last two district titles in 2018 and 2019, and Regional Finalists in 2018. He has a 33-17 record in 2 years.
Assistant Coach Bartram Trail
Coach Reed played baseball throughout his high school years at Creekside, earning honors in all conference as a junior and a senior. He continued playing baseball in college at South Georgia State College and Thomas University. Coach Reed is currently the assistant Coach at Bartram Trail High School.
FL Dodgers Scout Team
Coach Rick has been an Assistant or Head Coach for over 10 years at Arlington Country Day, Wolfson, and Terry Parker High Schools. He was drafted out of high school as a pitcher in the second round by the Seattle Mariners and also played in the Chicago White Sox organization for two years. Rick has been coaching with the 2022 FL Dodgers Scout Team over the past four years and has helped develop players who have committed to colleges prior to their junior year in high school. Currently Rick is a Special Education teacher and Assistant Athletic Director at Terry Parker High School.

Luke is entering his 4th year as Athletic Director at Creekside High School. Marabell had a record of 192-65 as Creekside’s Head Baseball Coach. He started the program at Creekside and built it into a public school powerhouse in Northeast Florida during his nine years in the dugout. During his tenure with the Knights they won 4 district championships, 3 regional championships, and 3 Final 4 appearances. The Knights program produced 5 St. Augustine Record Players of the Year under Marabell’s direction. Luke has also been a trusted name with the St. Johns Community Baseball scene for over 15 years.
Yulee High School
Coach Fred Matricardi is a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School, where he received Nassau County Player of the Year and 1st Team All City. He went on to play baseball at Central Florida Community College and was a 2-time State Champion. He later completed his studies and collegiate playing career at Lambuth University where he was All-American his Senior Year. He continued playing for the Dubois County Dragons Frontier League. He is entering his 16th year coaching high school baseball, having coached at Orange Park and Baker County. He is currently the Head Coach at Yulee High School.

Chelsea is a career higher education administrator, currently serving as a Senior Director at Jacksonville University. She lends her experience to Florida Prime by implementing technical platforms, garnering community support, and working to maximize program participation. Additionally, Chelsea has experience leading youth athletic and recreational programs as co-founder and operator of St. Johns Day Camps and WGV Soccer Academy.
